We Can Lead Statement on Copenhagen Deal

December 18, 2009 - WASHINGTON, D.C. - We Can Lead, a network of over 150 companies and top business leaders from 30 states, issued the following statement upon the news of a meaningful agreement reached in Copenhagen:

"Through his support of targets and timetables for greenhouse gas reduction, President Obama is standing tall on the world stage," said Jonathan Wolfson, Chief Executive Officer of Solazyme, Inc., a leading renewable oil company and a member of the We Can Lead network. "His actions send vitally important signals to both domestic and global markets that help provide the necessary incentives to move the US away from traditional fossil fuels. This will give US companies the ability to compete and lead the world in the race for clean energy while we usher in a wave of new green American jobs."
